Jewell W. Rollins

Jewell W. Rollins, 78, of Los Angeles, California, gained her wings on October 15, 2021 at 4:15 a.m. She was surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home.

Jewell, born in Dallas County, Texas on May 4th, 1943 was the first born child to Willie and Lorene Willis. Being the daughter of a Bishop Preacher, she accepted Christ into her life at a very early age. She was over the usher board at her father’s church located in Los Angeles, California…Garden of Eden. For many years Jewell was a dedicated member of the Eastern Stars.

Jewell attended and graduated from Jordan High School in Los Angeles, California. She then went on to attend Loyola Marymount University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She was a long-time supervisor for the Department of Motor Vehicle in Los Angeles, California.

Jewell was the matriarch of the family and the momma to many. She was knowledgeable, wise and loved learning about everything. She was also witty and very quick on her feet. There wasn’t a soul that she met that didn’t become a friend. To know her was to love her. She was the representation of the mother of a blended family.

Jewell was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Lorene Willis, her sister Joanne, her niece Kimberly and her granddaughter Lachion. She leaves to cherish her memories of five children: Juanita, Lenet, Erik, Shanta and Eros; 10 grandchildren: Quanita, Latrice, Dajon, Jermaine, Kenneth, Kevin, Khamara, Cameron, Samantha and J’Honestee; 10 great grandchildren: Elija, Saniha, Daniel, Jermaine Jr, King Ermias, Dakota, Philip, Litsioti, Gabrielle and Langston; Six sisters: Kathy, Harriet, Linda, Sherry, Davetta and Elizabeth; Four brothers: Willie, Paul, Robert and Leeland; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jewell will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Well done thou good and faithful servant!
