Jessie Mae Clark

April 21, 1920 — June 26, 2015

Jessie Mae Clark was born the 2nd of 9 children to Chester and Sophia (Lake) Bash in Portland, Oregon on April 21, 1920. Jessie started school in California and then her family moved to Donnelly, Idaho where Jessie attended school at Donnelly, Roseberry and Yellowpine. She went to Donnelly High School where she earned a school letter playing basketball.

Jessie met Sterling Clark at the Donnelly Merc when she was 19. They were later married in Winnemucca, NV in august of 1940. They had one daughter, Dona.

Jessie helped support the family by working in various arena such as the Quick Stop Café as a cook/waitress, in the McCall Dry Cleaner ironing on a mangle, in Stockwell's grocery-dry good store as a checker/bookkeeper, a worker in the McCall Post Office and also worked in the main and Fifth Market in Boise.

Jessie had many hobbies. She square danced, played pinochle, bridge, belonged to a sewing club, the McCall J.C.etts, and in Boise, she was on a bowling league, played golf, loved traveling (she and Sterling belonged to the Air Stream Wally BYAM Club) and she enjoyed her gardens of irises, roses and dahlias.

Jessie and Sterling lived in McCall for 11 years, then in 1954, moved to Boise. When Sterling retired they moved to Eagle, Idaho where they lived by the Eagle Hills golf course for 33 years. After Sterling passed away, Jessie moved to a retirement complex in Eagle, Idaho. On August 1, 2012, Jessie moved to Pocatello and joined the family at Quail Ridge to be closer to her daughter Dona.

Jessie has one remaining sister, Dona Rose Conant, living in Boise; her daughter, Dona W. Stoll, 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren, not counting step and foster children.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Finn Cemetery in Donnelly, Idaho. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road Chubbuck, Idaho. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.wilksfuneralhome.com.
