Jessie G. Miranda

Jessie (Jesusita) Garcia Miranda, 82 of Pocatello passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. Jessie is the daughter of Rapheal Vasquez and Leocadia Garcia and was born September 2, 1935 in Pocatello. After Jessie's mom passed away, her grandparents continued to love and care for her.

Jessie joined the work force starting at St. Anthony Mercy Hospital as a custodian and then went on to become a pediatric nurse in 1954. Several years after that she transferred to Bannock Regional Medical Center as a housekeeper and worked there for a time prior to joining the ISU custodial team where she worked until she retired.

Jessie was a beautiful soul to everyone she met, she always helped anyone no matter what the circumstances were. She was also a very honest person, whom if she had a problem she would let you know. Jessie had many hobbies from doing scrapbooking, flowers, gambling, and spending time with her loved ones and her companion, Nina.

Jessie is survived by her 7 children, Virginia (Joe) Guerrero; Clem (Kathy) Miranda, all of Pocatello; Andrew (Becky) Miranda of Blackfoot; David (Nancy) Miranda of West Valley, UT; Ralph Miranda of Olympia, WA; Gloria Salpino of Eugene, OR; John (Sonny) Miranda of Buffaloe, NY; she is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one sister, one brother, and many nieces and nephews.

Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Andres Miranda; a son, Victor Miranda; her parents, grandparents, sisters, Nallie; Aurilia; and San Juanita; brothers, Lupe and Jess.

A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will follow the Rosary Service until 8:00 PM. Her committal service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family of Jessie Miranda would like to express our gratitude to Heritage Hospice for caring for our mother while she was with us. She is loved and will be dearly missed.
