Jessica Baker

Jessica Leigh Baker, 33, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2012, of a long term illness. Jessica was born on July 13, 1979 to Tonea L. Ballard and Leslie Baker Sr., in Pocatello, ID. Jessica was the great-great-granddaughter of Willie George and a great-great-great-granddaughter of Chief Tendoy. Jessica graduated from the Shoshone-Bannock Jr./Sr. High School in 1999. She worked at several different occupations, not knowing what field to go into. Jessica moved to New Mexico where she stayed with an aunt for a summer where she worked at Burger King and at the Mescalero Tribes Inn of the Mountain Gods, hotel and casino, working at the Tepee Gas for a couple of years, also as an election clerk off and on. Jessica met Micheal R. Santistevan and together had two children, Talon Cole (9) and Alissa JaShell (7) Santistevan. Jessica enjoyed spending time with her children, spending a lot of time on the computer (facebook) talking with friends, loved animals also writing poems. Survivors include her husband Micheal Santistevan, her two children Alissa and Talon all of Pocatello, ID, mother Tonea Ballard, brothers Les Baker Jr. and Troy T. Moss all of Fort Hall, ID. Grandfather Willard Ballard a great grandmother Ella Sambo-Appenay, Grandfather Edmund Wayne George, Grandmother Eloise George Lopez, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She preceded by father Leslie Baker Sr., grandparents, Raymond & Gladys George, Wilford & Leota Ponzo Ballard, Joe R. & Dorothy Baker, Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and other relatives. Jessica will be taken to Tonea Ballard residence at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 24, 2012, where she will lie in state until time of Traditional Burial on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Gibson Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
