Jesse Johnson

Jesse Albert Johnson, 66, passed away on April 10, 2023 at his apartment in Pocatello, ID under hospice care.

Jesse was born on October 7, 1956, in St. Mary’s Hospital in Breckinridge, MN to Lura Mae (Bahr) Johnson and Hilford Johnson. He attended school in Wahpeton, ND.  Jesse was an independent soul, working at many jobs over the years: forest firefighter, surveyor, miner, truck driver, landscape designer, commercial fisherman, and others. He was a writer, composing prose and poetry on subjects deep and wide. He was a storyteller of wonderful autobiographical adventure tales. He was unique and good to know. God rest his soul.

He is survived by his son Wes Beuning, and two grandchilden, Kyra and Asher, from Nebraska, and his brothers, Dan (Gayle), Roger, from Minnesota, and Clyde Johnson from North Dakota.

His memorial service will be held at the Evergreen United Methodist Church in Wahpeton, ND, later this spring.
