Jerry Lamont Edwards

On December 3, 2014, Jerry Lamont Edwards returned home to his Heavenly Father. Jerry was born February 10, 1954, to Kieth and Elaine Edwards in Pocatello, Idaho. He attended Hawthorne Jr. High until the 10th grade, he then joined the Marines in 1973, and was later honorably discharged. Jerry married Renae Sortor in May of 1976 and on January 22, 1978, he was blessed with a daughter, Jessica, whom he adored deeply. During his marriage he had gotten his GED. He and Renae later divorced. He married Vicky Allen, and that also ended in divorce. Jerry was a jack of all trades; he could build, fix, or restore anything. He had a passion for fast cars and trucks, he loved his hot rods. Jerry had worked with his father setting and moving mobile homes in his earlier years, he also worked at Monsanto in Soda springs, Bannock Paving, and Western Farms in Bancroft. He also did many small jobs, he didn't like to stay still. He spent a lot of years taking care of his mother until her passing 2 years ago. Jerry loved to hunt, fish and camp. He really enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to snow machine, and he loved going to the drag strip and watching the race cars. His last project was his 1961 Chevy pickup. He was proud of that, as he should be. His eyes would light up every time it was started. Jerry was a friend to many and also a father figure to many as well. Jerry is survived by his brother, Danny Edwards (Terry) of Boise, ID; his daughter, Jessica Edwards (Mike) of American Falls, ID; granddaughters, Dakota and Angel; grandsons, Jay and Chase; and his great- granddaughter, Myah, American Falls, ID. He is preceded in death by his father, Kieth Edwards; mother, Elaine Phillips; brother, Monty Edwards; grandparents; and aunts. A memorial service will be Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11 AM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500, with Military Honors to follow at Colonial Funeral Home.
