Jerold Bunn

d. October 19, 2012

POCATELLO - Jerald H. Bunn, 61, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born on May 3, 1951, in Layton, Utah, to Jacob and Norma Bunn. He grew up in Preston, Mink Creek, and Strawberry Canyon located between Logan and Brigham City, Utah. Throughout his life he lived in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Montana, finally settling in Inkom the last 17 years. Jerald married Brenda Self on April 15, 1971. They had 1 daughter named Crystal Ann. Later he married Jane Hancock. They had 2 daughters named Honey Jane, and Toni Lynn. On June 29, 2002, he married, as he always said, his solemate Linda Waters. Linda has 2 sons from a previous marriage, Clinton Steven Waters, and Troy Lynn Waters. Jerald loved them both as his own. Jerald was a welder by trade and worked for Sundance Construction. He also was a high rise worker, jockey, horse breaker, horse trainer, and guide. In addition he worked for the Forrest Service and various dairy farms. He was considered a handy man. Anyone could give him a challenging job and he would figure it out and do it. He enjoyed helping others. Jerald worked at the Hole-in-the-Ground for 1 year, where he worked entirely alone. Once a month supplies were flown in by helicopter. It is located where Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada come together. It's surrounded by rugged cliffs and the treacherous Owyhee River Breaks at the end. His job had been to ride herd on 1,500 head of mother cows, 400 head of 2-year-olds, 90 bulls, and 200 yearlings. He broke wild mustangs. He also trained horses and gave riding lessons at the riding stables. One task he never forgot was helping his older sister catch and descent skunks. This is how his sister Alicia paid her way through beauty school. Jerald's hobbies were fishing, hunting, playing pool, raising chickens, homing pigeons, and fish. He enjoyed horses, dogs, and all animals. He felt his best when he was helping others. He is survived by his wife Linda of Inkom; daughter Crystal West of Labarge, WY; daughter Honey Biscoff of Orem, UT; daughter Toni Bunn of Orem, UT; brother John (Carol) Bunn of Nampa, ID; Brother Jay (Roma) Bunn of Kuna, ID; brother Joe (Judy) Bunn of Ogden, UT; sister Alicia Andrew of Tooele, UT; sister Sandi (Kenny) Godfrey of Commerce, City, CO; sister Pam (Leo Hall) Coopland of Boise, ID; step-son Clint Waters of Pocatello; step-son Troy Waters of Missoula, MT; 1 grandchild, 3 step-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
