Jermey Michael Boyce

Jermey Michael Boyce passed away on April 23, 2023, at 46, surrounded by family and close friends. He was born on September 25, 1976, in Pocatello, Idaho. He is the son of James and Jacque Boyce and has two younger brothers, Jeffery and Joshua.

Jermey attended Chubbuck Elementary, Hawthorn Junior High, and Highland High school. He grew up enjoying outdoor activities such as archery and rifle hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, snowmobiling, playing baseball, wrestling, football, and camping with his family.

Jermey married Valerie Beason in 1999 and they had four children together: Michael, Ashley, Trystan, and Zachary. They later divorced and he married Kelly Checketts in 2010 and they had Teagan. He helped raise Kelly’s two children Jace McCloskey and Taylor Finlay. Jermey and Kelly enjoyed camping, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and going to Denver to watch their football team. Go Broncos! Jermey was known for working hard and doing quality construction work. He began his own concrete business two years ago and had his sons working with him.

Becoming a grandfather was a special experience for Jermey. He didn’t expect to love becoming “Papa”. He had a special bond with his oldest granddaughter Emory. His grandchildren meant everything to him. His grandchildren are Olivia and Lakelynn, daughters of Trystan and Madi; Emory, Shane, and Airian; children of Taylor.

Jermey is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, three uncles (Rick, Wayne, and Larry), and his father-in-law Rex Checketts.

His family would like to offer special thanks to all those who donated.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 2-3 p.m. at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck.  Funeral services will also be held at Wilks, and will begin immediately following the visitation at 3 p.m.
