Jennifer Delores Hammon, 48, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on December 18, 2023.
She was born in Burley, ID on October 23, 1975 to parents, Penny & Rick Coates. She was the oldest of two children. She grew up in Twin Falls, ID, graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1994. She became a mother with the birth of her oldest daughter, Lauren, in 1998, and her second daughter, Madalyn, in 2000. In 2009, she adopted her good girl, Bailey Jean (seen pictured with Jen in the photo), who has happily been by her side ever since.
Jen moved to Idaho Falls in 2012 and started her job at Potandon Produce, working in accounts receiveable. Over her 11 years there, she developed close friendships, which she greatly cherished.
She met the love of her life, Kevin Hammon in July 2013. They were married in October 2013, in Menan, ID. Their short 10 years together were packed full of adventures, laughter, and lots of love. They truly were the best of friends.
Everyone who knew Jen, knew Wyoming held a special place in her heart. Whether it was getting lost in the trails surrounding Lander, WY, eating spaghetti for breakfast at the Oxbow with her grandson Oakley, or getting snowed in at her cabin in Atlantic City, WY, Jen was happiest when she was at home.
She was always a strong, caring, and positive woman. Towards the end of her life, her courage and bravery shined through. After being diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer in August of 2023, her only response was “Now, we fight.” She fought until the very end.
Jen will be greatly missed by her husband, Kevin Hammon; her children, Lauren (James) Steed, Madalyn Hatch, Sarah (Christian) McKey, Emily Hammon, Camille Hammon, and Brandon Hammon; her grandsons, Braden and Oakley Steed, and Michael McKey; her brother, Brian (Jenny) Coates; her mother, Penny Owens; and her good girl, Bailey. She is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and her father, Rick Coates.
A visitation will be held on December 29th from 1pm to 2pm at Wilks Funeral Home in Pocatello, ID.
