Jennifer Ann Mikkelson

Jennifer Ann Higbee Mikkelson, 43, passed from this life on August 14, 2015. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho on October 14, 1971. She attended schools in Pocatello, Rexburg, California, Utah, North Carolina, and received her GED. She then went on to nursing school in Twin Falls, Idaho at C.S.I. Jennifer was married to Josh Houghton she then married Steve Mikkelson. He was the love of her life. Jennifer worked as a nurse in many different facilities and was very loving and caring with all she came in contact with. She was also a nanny for a year in Connecticut. She enjoyed traveling and seeing N.Y.C. She was born and raised LDS but later in life had her own religious beliefs. Jennifer loved to do arts & crafts, write poems and read. She loved to sing and be around her friends and family and spending time with her boys teaching them how to be young men. Jennifer had many friends who she loved to be around. Jennifer was the oldest of 5 children. She loved her sisters, Susan, Christine and Paula and her only brother, Jonathan. She also loved her nieces and nephews, Katelynn, Sarah, Macie, and Zachary. Jennifer is loved and will be greatly missed by her husband, Steve Mikkelson, sons, Talan, Matthew, William, and step-son, Cody. She is survived by her parents, Judy McGee, and David and Cindy Higbee; sister, Christine Sullivan (Christines fiance, Brett Mayers), nieces, Katelynn & Sarah Sullivan, and Macie; nephew, Zachary Sullivan; grandmother, Wilma Jones; and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Susan and Paula; brother, Jonathan; both maternal grandparents; and her fraternal grandfather. A memorial service will take place on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500.
