Jenna Marie Carpenter

October 19, 1992 — May 19, 2019

Jenna Marie Carpenter was born to Richard and Carol Gibson on October 19th, 1992 and passed away unexpectedly on May 19th, 2019, from complications of a devastating stroke.

Jenna was born in Pocatello Idaho at Bannock Regional Medical Center and attended multiple local schools, including Tendoy Elementary, Franklin Middle School, and Pocatello High School, where she graduated in 2011, and received higher education at Idaho State University.

While attending Pocatello High School, she met Andrew Carpenter, dated for a few years, reintroduced the Savior into his life, and they ultimately married July 25th, 2014 in the Rexburg Idaho temple of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints for time and all eternity.

In her younger years, Jenna was passionate about many things, including sports, good friends, and watching a variety of movies. She played many sports, including basketball, softball, bowling, disc golf, but her favorite was volleyball, which she played throughout her later public school years and again in co-ed games with her husband Andrew and good friends. Her passion for movies was passed along to her by her mother, which led both of them to work at local movie theaters while attending school.

During her married years, she enrolled at Idaho State University and became a certified phlebotomist. Her skill with needles and providing passionate care to her patients developed as result of a diagnosis of diabetes at the age of eight years old. Her challenges with diabetes lead to interactions with many physicians at the Pocatello Children's Clinic, Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center, and Portneuf Medical Center, where many caregivers grew to love her. She eventually got to work with many of those physicians and nurses when she joined the outpatient lab full time at Portneuf Medical Center. She finished her medical care career at Physician's Immediate Care in Pocatello, where she worked as a medical assistant, and also made dear friends.

Jenna's strongest passion was reserved for her family, especially her husband, and her beautiful children, her 3 year old daughter Henley and 3 month old son Jensen. Her love for her Andrew was only eclipsed by the unfailing love for her kids.

Jenna was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she participated in joyful years of youth activities, as well as serving in the Primary and Relief Society in the Pocatello Idaho Meadowbrook ward. She loved the members of her ward and they loved her. Her testimony of the Savior and His plan of salvation never wavered, and the blessing of eternal families in the hereafter sustained her throughout the many ups and downs in her life.

Jenna is survived by her parents Rick and Carol Gibson, brother Alexander (Kandice), brother Joshua, sister Zoe, grandparents Dale and Darleen Higgins, and Robert and Nancy Jensen, as well as many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also blessed by Andrew's parents Dwight and Devona Carpenter, and David and Amanda Poland and Andrew's many siblings and extended family.

She is preceded in death by many relatives; most dear to her were her Uncle Scott Jensen and maternal great grandmother Nelda Jensen.
