Jeanne Marie Anderson

January 11, 1963 — March 23, 2024

On Saturday March 23, 2024 our beautiful angel, Jeanne Marie Anderson, surrounded by loved ones finished her earthly journey. Jeanne was born January 11, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a navel hospital. Her father, a sailor, always told her while mopping the nursery he spotted the prettiest little red haired baby girl in the world. He placed her in his mop bucket and took her home. After several naval bases and father retiring, they spent time traveling between Arkansas, where her mother was from and Idaho, where her father was from. They settled in Rupert, Idaho. Jeanne attended and graduated from Minico High School. After graduation Jeanne attended Idaho State University where she first met Don Anderson - he gave her that “Hey Baby” smile and she went and sat by a large, tanned, muscular man. In time, Don won her over and they had found their soulmates. They were married on May 21, 1983 in American Falls, Idaho. Over the next forty plus years they were inseparable. It is in American Falls, Idaho, on the old family homestead, where they would build their lives. Don and Jeanne were blessed with two beautiful boys, Matthew Don Anderson and Philip Scott Anderson. Jeanne then spent the next thirty years as a highly awarded, dedicated educator. Most of those years as an eighth grade algebra, pre algebra teacher. Her classroom was always a joy to visit because of her highly engaged, wonderful students. She was always incredibly patient, kind, compassionate, and cared deeply about her kids. They in return cared for her as well.

After her son Scott and his wife, Ashley, purchased Rockland Pharmacy Jeanne retired from teaching to do everything she could to help. She learned everything from billing, to respiratory therapy, to medicare, to purchasing, to finally becoming a certified licensed Pharmacy Tech. Truly, she was a Jane of all trades.

Jeanne was very talented and had many hobbies and crafts. Some of these included restoring vintage sewing machines, sewing, quilting, crochet, stained glass, tole painting, etc…there were not many crafts she had not tried but all she did she excelled at. Her most favorite would probably be counted cross stitch. They were magnificent, with the backs being as perfect as the fronts. Another love of Jeanne’s, since childhood, was her love of animals. Her mother always said she would meet herself coming and going to the feed store.

Out of all the amazing, wonderful things she did, her favorite role was that of “Nama” to Scott and Ashley's wonderful boys Everett “Rett” Zaring Anderson and Cooper “Coop” Scott Anderson. They were the apple of her eye. Now we believe they have an incredible guardian angel looking over them.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Anderson, her father Don Nielson, her grandmother Rene Faye Garner, her grandfather Charles Prescott, father in law Lyle Anderson (who always said he would keep her over his own son).

Jeanne is survived by her husband Don Anderson, American Falls, son and daughter in law Scott and Ashley Anderson, American Falls, grandchildren Rett and Cooper Anderson, American Falls, mother Annette Nielson Brumfield, American Falls, mother in law Nancy Anderson, American Falls, sister in law Nancy Evans (husband Gary Woodworth) American Falls, niece, Katie Gardner (husband Andy), Twin Falls, nephew, Kyle Evans (wife Michelle, daughters Adelia, Aubrynn, Amree, son Tate), brother Daniel Nielson, Arkansas, brother Donnie.

Nielson, Hawaii, sister Hii Romero (husband Gil), California, sister Cyndi Tano, Hawaii, brother in law Kirk Jackson (wife Lori), many unofficially adopted children that called her “Mom”, her Neeley Family, her School Family, her Pharmacy Family, and her many feathered furry babies.

Jeanne always said, “Please don’t buy me flowers, they wilt.” So in lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Bank of Commerce in American Falls, Idaho and with the help of Rock Creek Veterinary Services, the donations will be used to help spay and neuter as many pets as possible.

A visitation will be held April 11, 2024 at the Millhouse Event Center in American Falls, Idaho from 4 to 6pm. Please come and visit with friends and family. There will be a memory basket that people may bring or fill out a card and place a memory for the family to read at a later date. Also, at a later date, the family will privately place Jeanne’s ashes next to her son Matthew, at Falls View Cemetery.

Being selfless and always putting others before herself she wanted her organs and tissue donated to those in need.

The family would also like to thank the EMTs, Power County Hospital, Life Flight, and the amazing Doctors and Nurses at EIRMC, in Idaho Falls. They were all wonderful, treating our little Jeanne with kindness, dignity, and respect.
