Jean Lineberry Terry

February 1, 1949 — January 31, 2025

Pocatello

Jean Lineberry Terry returned to her Heavenly Father on Jan 31, 2025. She passed away at home surrounded by family.

Jean was born to Richard K Lineberry and LaRue Carter Lineberry on February 1st, 1949 in SLC UT. She was the second of four children and was raised in a loving home. She enjoyed a loving relationship with her family and close relationships with her grandparents and all the aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jean attended public schools and graduated from West High School in Salt Lake in 1967. She attended Ricks College and then BYU where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. While attending BYU, she loved singing with the Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus in Salt Lake City.  At BYU she met Randy Terry and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple.

Jean and Randy made their home in Pocatello, ID. They were blessed with six children. Shane (Melinda), Jared (Rocio), Eric, Alisa, Kristina (Jake) Wilcox, and Natalie. From those children came 17 grandchildren and a great granddaughter and one on the way.

As a career Jean chose to be a stay at home mom and a part time piano teacher.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the Savior and shared how much she loved Him whenever she had an opportunity. Jean served in different church callings but always said that she most loved being a primary teacher.

Jean was an avid walker and hiker. She loved being with family, playing piano, teaching her family the gospel, riding horses, picnics, family reunions, family vacations, and Christmas get togethers. She was an excellent cook and loved feeding her family. Her specialties were homemade bread, sloppy joes, and pumpkin pie. Her guilty pleasures were black licorice, taffy, root beer, ice cream, and shopping.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Richard & LaRue Lineberry. She is survived by her husband, Randy, her six children, brothers Ken (Ann) Lineberry & Scott (Becky) Lineberry, sister Tamra (Dave) Moore, 17 grandchildren and great grandchildren with one on the way.

The family wishes to express thanks to the oncologists, nurses, and staff at Portneuf Oncology and the doctors, nurses, CNAs, chaplains & social workers at Heritage Hospice for the kind loving care given to Jean.
