Jean Munn, age 81, resident of Pocatello, Idaho went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the University of Utah Medical Center following a recent illness. Born on February 1, 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho, as one of 9 children, she was the daughter of Ted John and Cora H. Goodenough. The man she called "dad", John D. Egbert, married her mother Cora in 1953.
Jean married Calvin E. Munn on September 9, 1954 in Pocatello, Idaho, and celebrated 58 years with the love of her life until the time of his death on May 28, 2013. She enjoyed writing poems, flowers, embroidering, crocheting, reading and many hours of bible reading and above all Jean loved her family and friends. She made many friends, including friends in Louisiana who lovingly called her Mama Jean. She was a member of the Pentecostal faith since 1975, and attended Christ Church in Pocatello, Idaho.
Jean is survived by four daughters, Billie Jean (Steven) Bishop, Leesville, Louisiana; Karen Gallegos, Pocatello, Idaho; Joyce Buttars, Preston, Idaho; Christine (Meryl) Stone Putman, Pocatello, Idaho; Three sisters, Larie McClure, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Sonja Okesson, Twin Falls, Idaho; Delora DeLong, Preston, Idaho; Brothers Derrold Butch John, Pocatello, Idaho; DuWayne John Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 1 sister, 3 son-in-laws, and 2 grandsons.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday August 20, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, Idaho.
The Life Celebration Service will be held Tuesday August 21, 2018 and will be officiated by her Pastor Stephen R Yadon. The viewing will be from 1:00 to 1:45, with service from 2:00- 3:00 PM at Christ Church, located at 1245 N. Arthur Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho. Jean will be placed next to her beloved husband Calvin following the service at Mountain View Cemetery 1520 So. 5th Avenue Pocatello, Idaho.
