James C. Arrington, “JC,” Retired USAF, got his wings on April 4, 2025, in Pocatello, Idaho, at the age of 60, surrounded by loved ones.
JC was born on April 12, 1964, in Arab, Alabama, to Eunice and Chelsey Arrington. In 1982, he graduated from Holly Pond High School. He later married Denise Beasley (Susan) in 1986 and several years later, they divorced.
JC joined the United States Air Force on February 14, 1986, specializing in Maintenance Management to which his code name was “plane picker”. While on active duty, he pursued his education and earned an associate in applied science in Maintenance Production Management. JC was also immensely proud to be a key individual during the F-15E transfer of 22 aircraft, the first of its kind with the Elmendorf Air Force Base in Mountain Home, Idaho.
While serving our country, he received numerous service medals, honors, and ribbons during his 20 years of duty. JC served honorably in several foreign countries during the Peacetime and Gulf War Era, retiring from the USAF on February 28, 2006.
JC met Karla Zeidler in 2000, married on June 15, 2002, in Las Vegas, NV, and had a special bond for 23 years. After retiring from active duty, Alaska is where JC and Karla made their home for 18 years. JC’s love of hunting and fishing was endless. JC earned the nickname “Jigs” while fishing because he would be seen jigging his fishing rod for Halibut, his favorite fish. JC would talk about these hobbies and show photos of his adventures for hours to whomever he talked to. While in Alaska, he worked for the Alaska State Troopers, which was his dream job for several years. In June of 2023, JC and Karla moved to Pocatello, ID to be closer to family. He still pursued his love of hunting and the great outdoors. JC was a simple, kind, caring down to earth man who was an avid fan of Nascar, who wet his whistle with Jack Daniels, and college football… Roll Tide! JC will be missed by so many.
Donations may be made in honor of JC to the Parkinson’s Foundation at https://www.parkinson.org, and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org.
The ICU nurses and physicians at Portneuf Medical Center will forever hold a special place in the hearts of the Arrington’s, as we went through this journey together.
