Jay Wellington Roebuck, 88, passed away peacefully among family on April 27, 2024.
Jay was born on January 24, 1936 to LaVonne and Kenny Roebuck. He attended Irving Junior High and Pocatello High School.
His entire life was consumed with cars beginning at a young age. He was raised by his grandmother Roebuck and he would tell stories about his late teen years into his twenties when he and his friends would work on cars at her house until the early hours of the morning and she would bring them pancakes and coffee to keep them going.
He worked for C. Ed Flandro Ford for a few years out of high school and then opened Jay Roebuck Auto Clinic in 1959 where he worked until his retirement in 2010. His love of cars spilled over into boats where owned several starting in the early 60’s through the entirety of his life. He loved boating on Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park every summer up until just a few years ago. He was also a model railroad enthusiast and maintained an amazing model railroad setup in the basement of his home.
Jay loved being around family and friends and was always the life of the party and he will be
remembered as such.
He is survived by his wife Robin, son Tod (Jennifer) of Reno, Nevada, stepson Bill Collins (Corrine) of Pocatello, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of a service, Jay wants to be kept in the memories of those he loved and influenced through their eternity.
