Jay Vanleuvan Sperry

In 1954 he married Judy Schrenk.  From that union, they had four children:  Leland, Lyle, Lynn and Brenda.  Jay and Judy later divorced.  In 1975, Jay met the love of his life, Linda Faye Lauritzen.  Jay and Linda were married August 29, 1976 and he gained another daughter, Recia. In 1985, Jay took his wife Linda to the Salt Lake Temple to be sealed.

Jay was an avid outdoors man and loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outside.  His true passion was working with the Fish and Game where he worked on many projects.

Jay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings.  His favorite was to serve in the temple with his wife.

Jay is survived by his wife, Linda; three children, Leland, Brenda and Recia; many grandchildren; his brother, Paul; and a plethora of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by 6 sisters, 1 brother, his parents, and two sons, Lynn and Lyle, and a granddaughter, JoAnn.

Jay died at home on August 16, 2022.  Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 at the LDS church on 2271 South 4^th Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho.  The services will start at 11 am with the viewing an hour prior.
