Jay N Anthony

Jay N Anthony, 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at a local medical center. Jay N. Anthony was born December 8, 1935 in Kimball, Idaho and was educated in the schools of that area. He graduated from Firth High School from a class of six students. He joined the Air Force and served for 2 years. He married Goldie Elaine Olson on January 1, 1956 in Pocatello, Idaho. They were blessed with two children, a daughter, Tami and a son, Troy. After returning from the Air Force, Jay worked for the Postal Service in Chicago, ILL. for a short period of time. He and Goldie then moved back to Idaho settling first in Pocatello, and then settled in Inkom. He went to work for Montgomery Ward for a number of years. He then began his career in the insurance business and retired from Farmers Insurance after 35 years. In 1983, Jay received his real estate license. His great passion for real estate became the beautiful mountain recreational properties of S.E. Idaho, especially the Lava Ranch Subdivision in the Lava Hot Springs area. He had a long list of clients that were loyal to him over the years and he served them well. Jay enjoyed fishing and reloading. Jay was a member of the LDS church. Jay is survived by his daughter, Tami Jean (Jeff) Swanson of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Chelsea and Justin, great-grandson, Grayson; son, Troy Jay (Kaylan) Anthony of Inkom, ID; grandson, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Aspen, Payton and Cassie; 2 sisters, Lavon Anthony and Joyce DeMulling. Jay was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie; 2 brothers and 1 sister. As requested by Jay, there will be no formal funeral services. However, a gathering for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. at the LDS Church, 973 N.
