Jay Lyle Jensen

Jay Lyle Jensen, 72, of Pocatello, passed away on 24 October 2009 at home after a long battle with cancer. Jay Lyle was born Aug 10, 1937 in Pocatello Idaho, the third of seven children of Melville and Ora Jensen. He Grew up on the family farm with 7 other siblings. He worked long hours on the family farm. He attended school at Tyhee elementary, Irving Jr. High, and Pocatello High school. Lyle joined the Navy in 1955, and he was honorably discharged in 1958. He was a mechanic and drove commercial trucks all his life. His previous wives included Carolyn Rust, Cheryl Dickson, MaryAnn Moss, Martha Stuart, Donna Atkins, Delta Pettingail, they were all divorced, and Isoline Sprague who preceded him in death. He married Georgia Briscoe on August 23, 2005 in Tyhee. His hobbies were camping, fishing, four wheeling, wintering in Arizona, collecting cars and trucks. Lyle loved the outdoors. He is survived in death by his wife Georgia Jensen, his children Kevin Wright, Jyll Patterson, Teresa Kaiser, Blaine Jensen, Joel Jensen, Diane Workman, Chantell Smith, Thayne Jensen, Jeffery Jensen, and Serena Jensen; his brothers Leroy Jensen, Gary Jensen, Gordon Jensen, and Terry Jensen, his sister Kaye Hallinan. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters; Karen Jensen and Mindee Jensen, his sons: Daryl Jensen and Jeremy Jensen and daughter LaiLani Jensen. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, Tyhee Chapel, 7th Ward, on Tyhee and Moonglow. Bishop Bastian will be officiating. The viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 So. 4th Ave, Pocatello and one hour prior to the service at the church. Military Honors will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello.
