Jay Howarth, 72, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Gateway Transitional Care Center. He was born March 31, 1943 in Heber City, Utah the son of Thomas and Esther (Webster) Howarth. Jay had 4 older sisters, Romona, Geneva, Miriam and Fay. Jay received his education while living in Heber City, Utah. On November 18, 1965 Jay married his sweetheart Beth Linda Sweat in the Salt Lake city Temple. Jay was an active member of the LDS faith. His employment history was with Pike Peaks Garage, Heber City Sanitation Supervisor in Utah, and was an Operator at the J R Simplot Food Division in Aberdeen, Idaho. Jay enjoyed wood working. He is survived by his wife, Beth of American Falls, ID; his five children, daughter, Shirley (Charles) Bammert of American Falls, ID, Son, Douglas (Michelle) Howarth of El Paso, TX, daughters, Linda (Bob) Cleary of American Fall, Id, Audrey (Wade) Beery of Idaho Falls, ID, and son, John (Tara) Howarth of Hanahan, SC. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Charyl, Lukas, Nikole, Trenton, Kayla, Matthew, Gregory, Bridger, Taylor and Ryan. Jay was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ramona Bates; grandparents; in-laws and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services for Jay will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the American Falls LDS Stake Center, 111 Church Place American Falls, Idaho 83211. A visitation will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave, Pocatello, ID, 233-1500, and again on Thursday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow in the Springfield Idaho Cemetery.
