Jannett Morrison

June 13, 1932 — August 2, 2022

Dolly Morrison, age 90, passed away on August 2, 2022 surrounded by family.

Jannett (Dolly) Morrison was born June 13, 1932 to Frank and Theresa Chimenti in Mount Holly, New Jersey.

She grew up in a big Italian family, she was the sixth of eight children.  She attended Ranccos Regional High school where she was a baton twirler. She graduated in 1950.

Dolly met the love of her life at bar outside of Fort Dix Army base. Her and Jerry Morrison were inseparable, they married on August 9, 1952, one day after Jerry was discharged from the army.  For their honeymoon they drove to Pocatello, Idaho to make their home.  This was a huge culture shock for Dolly being a city girl and having to move to the country.  She told a story of her first morning in Downey, Idaho of her new mother-in-law waking her up at 6am and asking if she was planning on sleeping all day.

They had their first child Tim in 1955 and Mickey followed 2 years later.  In 1960 Dolly became homesick and they moved back to New Jersey to be close to her family. While there they had their only Daughter, Cindy born in 1962.  Jerry couldn’t adjust to the city life and they returned to Pocatello where they had two more boys, Rick and Chris.

Dolly loved bowling, skiing and playing bridge. Later in life she took up golfing and loved to play in the local senior tour.  Her and Jerry also loved going south for the winters until Jerry took ill, she was by his side when he passed away in 2015.  Next week would have been their 70 anniversary.  After his death Dolly kept very busy with her friends playing cards, playing golf, and Traveling to Las Vegas to visit her daughter.  She only slowed down the past year when her heart started wearing out.

Dolly was a lifelong member of St. Anthony (Holy Spirit) Catholic Church.  Everyone remembers what a great cook Dolly was, she was famous for her spaghetti dinners and meatball sandwiches.

Dolly leaves behind her five children, Tim (Becky) Morrison, Mickey (Bobbet) Morrison, Cindy Brown, Rick Morrison, and Chris Morrison. 14 grandchildren, Marcus, Marissa, Nickolas, Theresa, Skyler, Alex, Tiffany, Tabitha, Colter, Emma, Kambria, C.J, Jacob and Isabel. 10 great-grandchildren.  Her sisters Josie Baesler and Ida Jennings.  Many nieces and nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and son-in-law Jack Brown.

At Dollys request there will be no service.  The family will spread her ashes with Jerry’s and her son-in-law Jack who passed in January.
