Janice Kay O'Connor Petersen, loving wife and mother, passed away at home on November 19, 2014 in Chubbuck, ID from cancer.
She was born September 12, 1953, to Clyde Nathaniel O'Connor and Minnie Charlotte Brown in Denver, Colorado. After moving around a little between Southern Idaho and Northern Utah, her family settled in Montpelier, ID from 1963-1969. The family then moved to Cokeville, WY. After marrying in Feb. 1970, she moved back to Montpelier, where she spent the majority of her time. She worked at NJL Helmet Co. for many years until they closed. After divorcing her first husband, she then moved to Malad, ID in 1989, with her second husband, Mark Petersen where she worked at La-Z-Boy Furniture in Tremonton, UT. In 2001, she decided to pursue her life long dream of a college education and moved to Pocatello to attend Idaho State University. In May of 2004, at the age of 50, she received two Associates Degrees in Computer Software Engineering /Internet Programmer and Language Specialist from Idaho State University. After graduating, she was employed at Idaho National Engineering Laboratory/BEA until her death.
Janice was happiest spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to be outdoors, camping and fishing at her favorite spot on Montpelier Creek.

She is survived by: her husband, Mark Petersen, Chubbuck, Idaho, one daughter, Canduella (Brian) Rowsell, Las Vegas, NV, two sons, Marty Negus, Rawlins, WY and Nathanial (Cherae) Negus, Chubbuck, ID. and a step-daughter, Nichole (Jorge) Beltran, Las Vegas, NV. Grandchildren: Jess (Laura) Rowsell, Krysta Rowsell, Haley, Braxton and Ryder Negus, Nick, Jacob and Cynthia Negus, Jonathan and Stephanie Clark, Christian Tupe, Olive and Harrison Beltran. Great Grandchildren: Ava, Hunter and Blake Rowsell. Her brothers: Ronald (Karen) O'Connor, Leroy (Nedra) Bledsoe, Gary Bledsoe, and two sisters: Renee (Ralph) Taylor, LaRae (Roger) Manbeck and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Merlin Bledsoe, two sisters, Anita Lewis, and Natalie Machen.
At her request there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home. 211 W Chubbuck Rd. Condolences may be sent to the family online at WilksFuneralHome.com
