Janet Lee Keller

d. February 5, 2018

Janet Lee Willes Keller, 76, returned home to our loving Heavenly Father, surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 5, 2018 in Pocatello, Idaho following a sudden illness. Janet was born March 21, 1941 in Pocatello, Idaho to Walter LeRoy Willes and Una Mary Jenks Willes. Janet graduated from Pocatello High School in 1959. At a young age Janet developed her love of music and singing. Janet would go on to become a member of the first Gate City Singers. Janet loved to sing in the opera and later on in life singing in the Messiah in McCammon, Idaho, with the honor of singing solos. After graduating from high school, Janet went on to attend Idaho State University; majoring in music. Throughout her life she has lived in Ely, Nevada, American Falls, McCammon and Pocatello, Idaho. Janet married her high school sweetheart, Glen Roy Keller on November 19, 1962 for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. Janet and Glen were blessed with six beautiful children: Diane, David, Ken, Jan, Renae and Michael. She dedicated her life and her love to them. Janet worked as a cashier for Albertsons in Pocatello and at Howells Big Store in McCammon. She loved talking and meeting the people who came into the store. Janet would later go on to work at the Pocatello Dental Group. While Janet loved to work, her greatest and most fulfilling calling was being a mother to her children and grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy and happiness than being with her family. She loved watching and attending any activity her grandchildren participated in. Janet was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had many callings and opportunities to serve. She loved the Savior Jesus Christ and lived her life as He did loving and serving those she came in contact with. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and loved her association with the women in the organization. Janet had many talents she shared, but none was greater than her love of music. Whenever Janet would sing, it as if there was a piece of heaven in the home. She also loved crafts and could always be found doing her award winning counted cross stitch and crocheting. Janet also loved to travel and to see what the world had to offer, she was always so excited to see a new place, experience new things and meet new people. Janet served her community by working as a volunteer for the Pocatello Police Department and was one of their volunteers of the year for 2017. Janet is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Shawn) Auger of Syracuse, Utah; son, Kenneth (Randie) Keller of Pocatello, Idaho; daughter, Jan (Corey) Roth of Chubbuck, Idaho; daughter, Renae Braack of Pocatello, Idaho; son, Michael (Emaly) Keller of Willard, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; sister, Roylene (Fred) Stewart of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister, Kay (Todd) Hunter of Pocatello, Idaho; brother-in-law, Bryce (Sharon) Rich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Keller; son, David Keller; mother, Una Mary; father, Walter LeRoy Willes; and sister, Barbara Rich. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11 am at the LDS Alameda 4th Ward Chapel, 1440 Lakeview Drive Pocatello, ID, with a viewing for one hour prior. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello, ID. A very heartfelt thank you from the Keller family to all those who called, visited, sent flowers and messages of love and support for Janet. They have not gone unnoticed and are greatly appreciated. We know she was humbled and grateful by all the love and support she felt. There is a special place in our hearts as a family to the many doctors, nurses and specialist and staff at Portneuf Medical Center and the nurses and staff at Quinn Meadows that took care of our mother and us as a family. Each and every one of you have been so kind and we want you to know of our gratitude. Let us all take comfort from the scripture from The Book of Mormon; "And I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father. Amen." (Enos 1:27) While we miss Janet terribly, it is a blessing to know that death is not the end, and we will be together as an eternal family again.
