James C. Vieth, 68, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012. He was born on July 11, 1944 in San Jose CA, and went to Elementary, Junior High and High School in Los Gatos, CA. He lived in Los Gatos until he retired from the US Postal Service in 2000 after 32 years of service. He then moved with his wife, Shannon D. Vieth, to Pocatello, ID. He was a veteran of the Army where he served in Germany and stateside. He was a member of The Independent Order of Oddfellows and Rebekahs for most of his life, only to stop when his health was failing. His last lodges were Portneuf Lodge #20 and Ivy Rebekah Lodge #23 in Pocatello, ID. He loved doing Word Search puzzles, watching and collecting John Wayne movies (he had all of them) and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Shannon D. Vieth of Pocatello, ID; sister Betty (Cliff) Hardin of Modesto, CA; brother Albert (Sandi) Vieth of Orovilla, CA; brother Shannon B. Vieth of Grass Valley, CA; step-son Michael (Victoria) McLain of Henderson, NV; step-son Kenneth McLain of Spokane, WA; step-daughter Martha (Harvey) Moore; step-son John (Stephanie) Wheeler of Bakersfield, CA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Albert L. Vieth, his Mother, Janice L. Vieth, and one nephew.
