James Richard Foote

POCATELLO " James Richard “Dick” Foote, 77, passed away at his sweetheart's home, Saturday, July 11, 2009, with his family at his side.Dick was raised in Pocatello, graduating from Poky High School. After high school he served in the Air Force and married the love of his life Mary Dickinson on July 14, 1951. He returned to Pocatello after his duties in the Air Force and raised two children, Jef and Jane.

Dick loved anytime outdoors; hunting, fishing, hiking or just watching all the small creatures that called his little patch of forest, home. Hummingbirds gave him a lot of pleasure. Summers were spent mixing batches of nectar for them.

Last year, Dick met the second love of his life, Joan Kington. They had a great time fishing, working around the joint and enjoying life together.

Dick is survived by; daughter, Jane (Kelly) Sampson, Chubbuck; grandson, Rick (Lynette) Sampson, Pocatello; granddaughter, Ashlund (Drew) Giles, Meridian; great-grandkids, James, Gyllian, Dylan and Alyssa; sisters, Alta Mottishaw, Pocatello and Marge Tull, Pocatello.

He was preceded in death by; wife, Mary Foote and son, Jef Foote.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 PM at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd. and from 10-10:45 AM at the funeral home prior to the services. The interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, where military rites will be provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. The funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of Wilks Funeral Home.
