James “Jim” A. Christensen, was born on December 6, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Phylis Wilma (Hansen) Christensen and William James Christensen. Jim passed away peacefully following an illness at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
Jim attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
James married Daleann Bassett on May 1, 1971. Together they had one child, Lauri.
Jim was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, camping, hiking. He loved the mountains. His favorite musician was Charley Pride. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and to help brighten their day. Most of all he loved spending quality time with his family. He loved his cats, especially, Precious and dogs. He enjoyed working on the dairies and farms and taking care of the farm animals. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening. He also enjoyed being involved in the community. He found it enjoyable to play with the toys in various department stores. Playing video games, hiking, and going to Starbucks, Wendy’s and McDonald’s with his grandson was a joy for Jim. Jim had a dream of catching a big king salmon, which he can now catch in the pine trees of heaven. He loved racing his Pontiac Straight 8 as much as he loved his daughter.
Jim was a member of the Elks Club and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
James was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Wilford Dean Christensen, Violet Lorraine Comish, James Andrew Christensen, Ronald J. Christensen, Thelma Ilene Finstead, and Wilma Mae Christensen. James is survived by his loving wife, Daleann Christensen of Pocatello; daughter, Lauri Christensen of Pocatello and grandson, Landon Christensen.
Honoring his wishes, James was cremated, and his family will scatter the cremains later this summer.
