POCATELLO - Jacquelin "Jackie" Diane Cullen Blake, 79, of Pocatello, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011. Born in Pocatello 1931 to John L. "Bud" Cullen and Lucille Agnew Cullen. Jackie graduated from Pocatello High School in 1949 and from Saint Alphonsus Boise Hospital School of Nursing in 1952 as an RN. While at school at St. Al's Jackie was president of her senior class. In 1953 Jackie married Lt. James F. Blake U.S. Army; they had three children James, Mary & "Kitty" Kathleen Blake. Lifetime Member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community, St. Anthony Chapel, Eucharistic Minister and Prayer Chain. Jackie was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 36 years. She was an avid bowler for years in Pocatello. Jackie served on the Cemetery Board for six years and came up with the idea for the funeral basket flower holder that is used today. She was also block Captain for Neighborhood Watch for many years. During the Viet Nam War (while her husband Jim was stationed in Herlong, CA) Jackie worked for three years as a MARS Operator during the Vietnam War. She patched thousands of calls from servicemen to the United Stated and their loved ones. Jackie knew the value of putting in the long lonely hours doing this as her husband had just returned from Viet Nam, and they had enjoyed being able to use this service during his time there. Jackie is survived by her son, Master Sergeant James and his wife Debbie Blake, their children Kasey and Amanda Blake, Kasey's Children Shaylee, Jackson, & McKenna; her daughter Mary Blake Oler, husband Rick Oler, their son Blake Oler; her daughter "Kitty" Kathleen Blake, husband Tom Neace, their children Jade and Heather Neace. Jackie was preceded in Death by her husband LTC (retired) James F. Blake, brother Dan Cullen, mother Lucille Agnew Cullen, and father John L. "Bud" Cullen. The family of Jackie Blake would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. LaVon Mills and her staff, the people at Alliance Hospice Healthcare, and all of her amazing caregivers that we loved and trusted to take care of our mother over the past few years. She loved and appreciated you all more than you will ever know! A Rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, with tributes and memorials by the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Community, St. Anthony Chapel located at 524 N. 7th Ave. Following the service a luncheon will be held that all are welcome to at 12 p.m. at the St. Anthony Chapel. Inurnment will follow the luncheon at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery.
