Jacqueline Fetchen

October 5, 1942 — March 24, 2020

Jacqueline M. Fetchen, 77, passed away on March 24, 2020 at Elegant Living in Pocatello, ID. Jacqueline was born October 5, 1942 in Lewiston, Maine to Albert and Loretta Metayer. She was the middle of three children, her older brother, Albert Mateyer, precedes her in death; her younger sister, Patrica Nezol, is living in Maine. Jacqueline married John Fetchen Jr. in March of 1962 and together they raised two daughters, Terri & Penny, until John's death in August 1975. After Johns death she went back to school and became a dietetic technician. She raised her daughters on her own. She never remarried because John was her hero and her true love. Jacqueline always had a strong relationship with Christ and in 1983 she converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the church and all the members and knew in her heart she was home. In 1984 she packed up and moved with her teenage daughters from Fontana, CA. to Pocatello, ID. She felt this was the place to be to finish raising her daughters and help them raise her future grandchildren. There was never a doubt in her mind that she would be sealed to John and have eternity with him. She was sealed to John and their daughters in 1984, one year after she joined the church. Jacqueline loved to be around people and to help in any way that she could. She loved to go to Walmart and visit those that worked there and give candy to the children that were shopping with their mom, with the mom's permission of course. Anyone who came in contact with her instantly loved her and her kind smile. She loved to volunteer at the Veteran's Home and made many friends there. She enjoyed doing her visiting teaching and doing many other activities with her church family. It was at church that she met Ann and Pat Harrild and they became sisters in Christ. Ann and Pat were there to support her to the end and showed her the love she needed as she finished life on this earthly plain. Jacqueline is loved by many. She is survived by her daughters, Terri Droghei (JM) and Penny Fetchen. She has six granddaughters, Katrina, Breann, Cheyenne, Jalissa, Shandel and Aulora; and ten great-grandchildren, Syrissa, Jazton, Byntlee, Eden, Terranie, Joseph, Sophynna, Salyna, TayLynn and Athynna. Private family services will be held with a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
