Jack Reynolds

d. February 3, 2016

Charles Jack Reynolds returned to his Father in Heaven and was welcomed into the loving embrace of his wife on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born on January 27, 1932 to Guy Roland Reynolds and Margaret Ulrich Reynolds in Merkel, Texas. He joined the Marine Corp in 1948 at the age of 16 where he served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Princeton. He was also stationed at the Naval Ordnance Plant as a guard in Pocatello. You can take the boy out of Texas but you cant take Texas out of the boy and he forever spoke with a charming "Texas drawl". It was while stationed in Pocatello that he met his sweetheart LaRee Reynolds. Jack and LaRee were married on April 28, 1950 in Pocatello where they lived and loved each other for the next 63 years. They were blessed with three children and were sealed together as an eternal family in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 16, 1963. After being discharged from the Marine Corps, Jack went to work at the FMC plant in Pocatello in 1952 where he was known as "Charlie" and he worked there until his retirement in 1994. Jack loved the outdoors and was an avid fly fisherman who taught himself to tie beautiful and intricate flies. In a bygone era, he loved to roam the mountains around Pocatello in his Jeep and on his motorcycle. He was an avid rock collector and enjoyed panning for gold. He truly was a "Jack" of all trades, being a self-taught electrician, plumber, printer and mechanic. He was a voracious reader with topics encompassing everything from Louis Lamour westerns to chemistry textbooks. Jack also loved to play cards and he spent many hours doing so with wonderful friends and fellow card enthusiasts at the Elks Club. Jack will be truly missed by his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he always had a special, tender rapport with babies, young children and the many canine companions he was fortunate to have in his life over the years. He is survived by his children, Vicky Stanger of Pocatello, Kent Reynolds and wife Keri of Layton, Utah and Karen Sparks and her husband Steve of Pocatello; grandchildren, Tara Klingler, Russell Stanger, Nicky Hemsley, Kelly McNett, Jason Reynolds, Kevin Reynolds, Nathan Reynolds, Julee Reynolds and Terissa Sparks; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; eight brothers and sisters; a son-in-law, Gordon Stanger; and great- granddaughter, Katelyn Spencer. Kent and Karen would like to express their heartfelt appreciation, gratitude and love for the truly selfless, wonderful and loving, tender care given to Jack by his daughter Vicky who was his primary caregiver during this last difficult year. Words can never express how grateful we are for the devotion, love, tenderness and patience you have shown. We are forever in your debt. Thank you also to Encompass Home Health & Hospice for the support and care provided and the dedicated, compassionate staff that supported Jack and his family during a difficult time.
