Jack Dean Ranstrom, 83, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 in Pocatello. Jack was born January 3, 1931, son of August Leonard and Anna Virginia Higgins Ranstrom in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. He was raised in Pocatello and attended Pocatello High School graduating in 1949. Jack served in the Idaho National Guard for three years. Jack married Wanda Mae Henricksen, they had two children, Larry and Jackie. He and Wanda were later divorced. He later married Marian Folk. She had two children, Kathy and Wes, whom he adopted and raised. Jack worked as a candy salesman for Gem State Distributors for 35 plus years for the Noorda family. Jack loved hunting, fishing, and camping in his younger years but after retirement, he loved to golf. He enjoyed golfing both Highland and Riverside courses with a group of friends known as "The Nooners." He is survived by his children, Larry (Joy) Ranstrom, Pocatello, Jackie (Denny) DeGrusha, New Orleans, LA, Kathy Ranstrom, Denver, CO, Wes Ranstrom, Denver, CO; three grandchildren, Wendy, Randy, Stacie; and eight great- grandchildren. There will be a viewing Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 2-3 PM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho. 208-233-1500. Graveside services, for family and close friends, will be held at 3 PM at Mountain View Cemetery, following the viewing.
