Isabelle Bybee Eames, 96, formerly of Syracuse, Utah passed away on July 18, 2011, with her two daughters at her side, at a hospice facility in Great Falls, Montana. She was born in September, 1914, in Syracuse, Utah, to Orson Pratt Bybee and Emma Cora Bodily Bybee. She married Rodney Elwin Eames in1935. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married nearly 65 years when Rodney passed away in 2000.Isabelle lived in Syracuse for all but the last several years of her life. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many ward and stake callings in the Church throughout her life, as well as temple ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple, and serving a mission for the Church with her husband in North Carolina. She also served in the PTA in Syracuse and in Davis County, Utah. She was loved by all who knew her, had a quick wit, and spread cheer wherever she went in her long life. She was a very good cook, and the family always looked forward to enjoying her tasty B-B-Q and delicious potato salad at family reunions. She worked much of her life as a hairdresser, and also at the PX at Hill AFB and Defense Depot in Ogden, all the while being a farmer's wife, homemaker, and loving mother. She enjoyed reading, traveling, doing handwork and quilting, music, and being with her family. Isabelle is survived by her children and their spouses: Ellen(Thayne) Smedley, Pocatello, Idaho; Linda H. Eames (wife of the late Robert O. Eames) Syracuse; Richard K. (Teresa) Eames, Garland, Utah; and Sally Lyn (Daniel) Dobbins, Power, Montana. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Kastelic; two sisters-in-law, Sarah S. Eames, and Lillian Eames. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her son, Robert O. Eames; her sister, Elda Chatelain; and one granddaughter, Gayle Smedley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 11 am in the Lakeshore Ward Chapel, 1600 S. 4500 W., Syracuse, Utah, with Bishop Lance Hamblin officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday evening, July 25, from 6 to 8 pm at the church, and also at the church 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday morning. Burial will follow in the Syracuse City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colonial Funeral Home in Pocatello, Idaho.
