Irene Hazel Hughes

Irene Miracle Hughes 97, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away Sunday March 20, 2022 at home with family. Irene was born August 26, 1924, in Castleford, Idaho. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Julia Miracle. She was the middle of three children. She graduated from Castleford High School in 1942 and then graduated from Cosmetology School in 1943. Irene married Otis B. Hughes on February 10, 1948. They farmed for many years in Hanson, Jerome, Hazelton, and Kasota, Idaho. During those years they were blessed with three children, Annette, Chris, and Michael. Otis retired from farming and they moved to Burley, Idaho. While living in Burley Irene was an instructor at the Mini Cassia Beauty School for 20 years. When Otis and Irene retired they spent their time gardening, camping and dancing. Irene enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She had many hobbies she enjoyed such as bowling, ceramics, gardening, embroidery and putting together puzzles.

She is survived by her children; Annette (Glen) Lattin, Pocatello, Chris (Joe) Adams, Boise, Michael (Karalee) Hughes, Pocatello. She was preceded in death by; her husband Otis B. Hughes, her parents, Albert and Julia Miracle, her brother Harlen and sister Othello Miracle, two grandchildren Jason and Jennifer Nichols of Boise.

The family would like to thank Heritage Home Health and Hospice, Evelyn, and Care Connections, Michelle. Also a special thanks to her granddaughter Lynell and great-granddaughter Kelsey for the tender care they gave during her last days.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilks Funeral Home.
