Ira Barry Tusch, 50, passed away from natural causes on March 21, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1974 in Boise, Idaho. He was adopted by Mari Tusch on February 12, 1975.
Ira attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello School District Evening High School in 1996.
Ira married Shamae Delahoussaye in 1994 and was subsequently divorced.
Over the years, Ira preferred to be called Bear ~ a combination of his bear-like build and his middle name. He was a talented artist, had a vivid imagination and loved music, especially the headbanger kind that was always blasting from his car speakers.
From day one, Ira was his own unique person. He had an amazing and enduring sense of humor and loved to pull pranks. Ira loved yard sales and was always looking for the best deals. He purchased everything from the local thrift stores.
From early in life Ira worshipped Michael Jordan and loved looking for, and finding, anything Michael Jordan especially the deals. Later in life, he loved Tiger Woods, and he was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan.
Ira loved to golf and could golf competitively with anyone. Over the years he had many holes in one and Ira always hit from the blue tees. Even after the automobile accident that forever changed his life, he was able to golf with the best of them. Many thanks to the “nooners” a Riverside Golf Course group of golfers, many of whom were great mentors to Ira. Brad Christensen was his surrogate father for many years and provided work and mentorship since the 1990’s. Ira also loved to fish and spent time every year fishing with his grandma at Mosquito Lake in the Sierras.
Ira will be joining his beloved dog, MoJo, who he always called his best friend. They were inseparable when MoJo was still with us.
Ira is survived by his son, Avery; his mother, Mari; and his aunt, Suzie.
