Ina Mickelsen

d. July 19, 2013

On July 19, 2013 our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and good friend passed away peacefully at home with family by her side. Ina Eliza Mickelsen was born in Rigby, Idaho on September 26, 1924. She was raised on a loving farm in Rigby with eight sisters and one brother. She excelled in typing, shorthand and business related courses. She married Henry R. Nielsen January 8, 1945. In 1957 Henry passed away unexpectedly. She then met the love of her life, Chris Mickelsen. They were married February 10, 1961. This marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Ina was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Ina's greatest love was being a dedicated homemaker. She was a wonderful cook, who always had a chocolate cake in the oven. No one ever went hungry at Ina's house. She took pride in maintaining an orderly home and the highlight of her day was when everyone was seated for a delicious meal she had prepared. Ina enjoyed camping, vacationing at Island Park and fishing with her family. She looked forward to the winters spent at Lake Mead and enjoyed making pies with her sisters and sister-in-law. She loved traveling to visit family. Ina is survived by her son Alan (Kathy) Mickelsen of Pocatello Idaho; daughters, Barbara (Spike) Kinghorn of Provo Utah, Janet (Charles) Colledge of Bountiful Utah, and Anna (Ray) Castelluccio of Colusa California; sisters, Josephine Montgomery of Butte Montana, Velma (Donald) Dinsdale of Rigby Idaho and brother Arvin Hunsaker of Hermiston Oregon. Ina is also survived by her dear friend Lola Roper of Pocatello Idaho. Ina has nine grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. Ina is preceded in death by her first husband Henry R. Nielsen, and second husband Chris Mickelsen; daughter Ruth Olfs and son Richard Nielsen; sisters, Elva Hulse, Melva Wheeler, Norma Marshall, Elnora Gilson, Verenna Wheeler, and Delia Winder. A viewing will be held on July 23, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Colonial Funeral home, 2005 South 4 TH Ave, Pocatello, Idaho. A Funeral will be held July 24, 2013 at 11:00 am at the church on the corner of Hawthorne and Eldredge with a viewing from 10:00am to 10:45am prior to the services. Burial will be at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
