Hurley Archie Hamilton, age 85, passed away on June 7, 2016, in Pocatello, Bannock, Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Beale Hamilton; and seven children and three stepchildren. David Kyle (Mary Lynn) Holbeny, Charlene Weimer, Vera- Ellen Hamilton (David) Ward, daughter-in-law, Bonnie Lee Hamilton, Bonnie Colleen Hamilton (Glen) Cox, Shirley Ann Hamilton Gray, Clifford Andrew (Allyson) Hamilton, George Hurley Hamilton, Jinann Kay (Scott) Cobia, Lance Beale (Cindy) Taylor, and DeLaina Baker. He always said he had eleven children. Hurley was born in Pocatello, Bannock, Idaho, on December 30, 1930 to Hurley Clifford and Vera May Lish Hamilton. He was raised in the Pocatello area. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many positions in the church. He loved the Boy Scout program and received his Eagle Scout award. He served in many positions in his ward, stake, and also committees he has served in scouting for over 55 continuous years. He also loved sports and was very involved in coaching in varies sports. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Hurley was involved in education and earned his Masters in Education. He was a teacher, principal, and superintendent. He later worked for the Union Pacific railroad. After he retired he worked for the National Park Service. He especially enjoyed his time at Mesa Falls State Park. Hurley married Cynthia Murray on October 13, 1949. They had two children, David and Charlene. They were later divorced on November 21, 1952. Hurley married Betty Ann Poulton on November 13, 1956. Together they had six children. Betty Ann passed away on October 27, 1985. He then married Mary Ann Beale on December 30, 1988. He has 39 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Hurley loved his family and treasured anytime he could spend with any of them. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Al Hamilton; and one granddaughter, Rachel Kay Cobia. The family would like to thank the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello, Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, and Access Hospice Care for the wonderful care and love they have shared with the family. They helped to make his passing easier for all. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11 am at the Alameda 3 rd Ward Chapel, 954 E. Walnut St. (corner of Walnut and Jefferson) with a viewing for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, with Navy Military Honors, will follow at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon, Idaho.
