Howard Everett Curzon, age 92, passed away on June 16, 2021, in Boise, Idaho. Everett was born on November 14, 1928, in Onyx, Idaho to Robert Howard and Eva Lucille (Lish) Curzon. He was the second of eight children. He attended schools in Onyx and Inkom graduating from Inkom High School in 1946.
On June 22, 1947, he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Chandler, in Pocatello. The two of them built their first home on Rapid Creek in Inkom. They lived there for 11 years then moved to Pocatello. In 1958 they were sealed together in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised their two children, Cheryl and Michael, and were married for 21 years until her passing in 1968. Everett met and married Mary Munger in 1969 adding two stepdaughters, Peggy and Jody, to the family. They celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Over the years, Everett did various jobs including farming, driving milk truck and then retiring in 1992 as Plant Manager after 45 years with the Ashgrove Cement Company (originally Idaho Portland Cement Company). He started at the cement plant in 1947 as a mill worker. His career with the cement plant included positions such as assistant chief chemist, plant engineer, office manager and plant manager. In retirement he used his engineering, wood working and general building skills to do handyman work around Pocatello. He thoroughly enjoyed this time of his retirement.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Everett loved to keep busy and enjoyed building things with his hands, woodworking, jewelry making and being outdoors: hunting, fishing, skiing and family camping. He was a volunteer and served on boards of directors for various credit unions and banks (President of Idaho Central Credit Union from 1964-1979), on the board and as a Pocatello Chief of the Pocatello Chamber of Commerce (President in 1980), the Red Cross and the Pocatello Rotary Club.
