Horton Gary Kington, 79, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at a local medical center. He lived, laughed and loved. Horton was born in Idaho Falls, ID on January 28, 1937 to loving parents, Marva and Clifford Kington. He had one brother, Gerald whom he loved dearly. He joined the USAF when he was 18. He married Jacquelyn Lawney. She had 2 sweet daughters, Janet Ruth and Leslie Rae. They were blessed with two more children, Valerie M., and a son, Andrew G. they were later divorced. Later he married Tae Yon Kwon. She passed in July 2000. He then married Annalee. She passed on December 20, 2003. Horton met a sweet lady named Ilse Loomis. They had a lot in common and were married on January 6, 2006. During his 20 years in the Air Force he was stationed at many interesting places including; California, Texas, Colorado, Idaho, Morocco, England and Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1975. Also, included in that tenure, he was a career counselor specializing in drug and alcohol abuse education, equal opportunity and race relations education. He then went to work for Federal Civil Services at Fort Richardson, Alaska; retiring in December 1992 after 37 years. He was elected VFW commander serving for 1998-2000, He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans of America. Survivors Include; his wife, Ilse Kington; children, Janet Schubert, Leslie Kington, Valerie Kington, Andrew Kington; step-children, Ernest Loomis, and Ellen Loomis-Roberts. A special thanks to a step-grandson, Patrick Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; and two wives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 11 am at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID, with a visitation for one hour prior to the services. Military Honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204.
