Hattie Armstrong Davis, 95, passed away April 12, 2009 of natural causes at a local long term care center. She was born January 23, 1914 in Robin, Idaho the daughter of Dudley P. and Ada R. (Thomas) Armstrong. On August 1, 1937 she married William Edward Davis in Idaho Falls and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on July 21, 1943. Ed passed away on March 10, 1985. Hattie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Princeton Ward. She has served as a Relief Society visiting teacher and served many years in the Family History Center. She enjoyed genealogical work, sewing, gardening, her elephant collection and playing with her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons; Lyman (Lynn) Davis, Gilbert, AZ and Vern (Lila) Davis, League City, TX; a daughter, Cora A. (Tom) Sawyer, Springville, UT. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; Scott (Debi) Davis, Cathy (Randall) Pippin, Bettina (Alyn) Bowden, Tommy Sawyer, Rebecca Sawyer, Bradley, Sawyer, Mark Sawyer, Joseph Sawyer, James Sawyer and Alyssa Sawyer and 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave Pocatello. The family will meet with friends and relatives Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow the service at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
