Harvey Lee Eagle passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2014. He was born on Decmeber 24, 1933 in Fort Hall, Idaho. Harvey attended schools in the Idaho area in his younger years. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1957 to 1959. He worked at Warehouse Corporations as well as the Nevada Human Society from 1959 – 1970 in Reno. He moved back to Idaho and was employed by Irrigation Systems Operator retiring in 1987 and then worked for the Shoshone Bannock Tribe Chemical Dependency.
He married Jeanette A. Mitchell Eagle on August 1, 1959, she passed away in March 25, 1974. Later he married Delphine Thorpe Eagle on February 14, 1991 until her passing on January 18, 2013.
Harvey was an avid Native American Traditionalist. He loved gardening and ranching and was an animal lover. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a stone and gem cutter, he also enjoyed tanning hides, arts and craft hobbies and he was an antique collector.
Harvey is survived by: step daughter, Loretta Tom Birdhat, Reno, NV; son, Robert D. Eagle of Sparks, NV; daughters, Sandra L Eagle of Sutcliffe, NV, Tammy L. Eagle of Sparks, NV, Rebecca L. Eagle of Wadsworth, NV; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents Rosetta Evans Mariano, Vidal Ballard; stepfather, Walter Eagle, 2 brothers, Albert Ballard and Colburn Ballard and 3 sisters Joyce Ballard, Wyoma Ballard Nephi and Lavida Francis Ballard.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Mission Road in Fort Hall, Idaho. Traditional native burial will follow in the Ballard Ross Fork Cemetery.
