Guy E Martin passed away in Pocatello, Idaho on October 12, 2013. Guy was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on August 26, 1932, born the third of seven children to Porter and Hazel Martin. Guy was in the first graduating class at Bonneville High School in 1952, after which he enlisted in the U.S Navy and married Marjie Anena Johnston in the Logan, Idaho LDS Temple shortly after completing his basic training. Guy served his country during the Korean War from 1952 through 1956, after which he moved his family to Pocatello, Idaho where he attended trade school for welding and automotive technologies at Idaho State University. Over the years Guy worked at Gate City Steel, Faughten Company, Bucyrus Erie, and Shoban Steel. Guy enjoyed wood working and collecting ink pens and John Deere memorabilia and he was widely known for always having an enjoyable story or anecdote to tell. But most people knew him for being a good and charitable man who loved people, loved his family, and loved his church.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, five of his siblings, his son Eric Martin, and his step-grandson, Nick Gummersall.
Guy is survived by his wife, Marjie Anena Martin, his sons Bruce Martin and Kevin Martin, and his three daughters, Lynette (Martin) Chambers, Anena Marie (Martin) Combs, and Julie (Martin) Gummersall. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 6 step-grandchildren.
