Our beloved son, brother, husband, father, papa, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2017, due to congestive heart failure. Greg was born January 29, 1963 to Dr. Shirley Clifford and Carol Housley Beard. In his early years, he attended Jefferson Elementary, Irving junior high and Pocatello High School. He finally graduated from the school of hard knocks. Gregs first real job was as head greens keeper at Riverside Golf Course. He made many lifelong friends there. He then worked for Sunset Sports Center, Sportsmans Warehouse and Element Outfitters; where he made many more friends in the retail world. On June 21, 1985, he married Valerie Robinson. Soon thereafter, their oldest daughter, Tabitha, was born followed by their second daughter, Amanda. Greg always said his favorite daughter was his yellow lab, Candi (a lot less stress). Greg and Valerie just missed their 32 nd wedding anniversary. Greg was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed anything that had to do with hunting and fishing. We all have many great memories of all the camping trips. One summer, we lost count after about the 15 th trip. He loved hanging out with his brothers on their hunting trips every year. He also enjoyed his shopping days with his brother, Richard. Greg was very proud of his garden every year. He claimed to grow the best tomatoes in town. He loved to share with everyone. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; daughters, Tabitha Lee and Amanda Collett; grandchildren, Ryker and Analisa Lee; his favorite sister, Nancy (Dale) Severson, Boise, ID; brothers, Bruce, David and Richard all of Pocatello, ID; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a niece, Heather Beard. Whenever Greg was asked how he was doing, the standard answer was he has his good days and he has his bad days. Now, all he has are good days. Greg will be in our hearts forever and will be truly missed. We love you. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
