Gregg Alan Vankirk

July 24, 1962 — March 19, 2022

Gregg Alan VanKirk, 59, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on March 19, 2022 in Pocatello, Idaho.  He was born on July 24, 1962 in Denver, Colorado to Edward and Marilyn VanKirk.  Gregg grew up in Colorado and graduated from Alameda Sr. High School. 

In 1994, he married Stacie Gilman and together they had two sons: Jesse Alan VanKirk and Jason Edward VanKirk.  Gregg and Stacie later divorced in 2020.

Gregg worked at the Pocatello Regional Airport as Lead Custodian for the past 11 years and he made a lasting impression on all his coworkers and visitors who traveled in and out of Pocatello.

Gregg was a classic car enthusiast and recently enjoyed Chrome in the Dome.  He was working hard on learning to relax and enjoy life as well as show love to those around him, especially his two sons.  They were learning to navigate life together as adults and deepening their relationship by spending quality time toghether as often as they could.  Gregg loved sunsets and would often just stop and soak in the beauty.

He is survived by his two sons Jesse and Jason, his father Ed (Phyllis), Aunts Rita and Bonnie, Cousins Tony, Laurie, Sherrie and Mark.  He was preceeded in death by his mother Marilyn.

A casual luncheon will be held to celebrate his life from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Friday April 8, 2022 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 West Chubbuck Road Chubbuck, Idaho.
