Grant Simons

d. November 16, 2010

Grant Simons, 54, died at his home of natural causes on November 16, 2010. He was a lifelong resident of Pocatello, Idaho and lived with his wife of 33 years, Diane (Strand) Simons. His family will say goodbye to their beloved husband, son and brother privately. No public funeral will be held. Grant is survived by his wife, Diane, and their pets that ruled his life, his mother Verna Simons, two sisters: Carolyn Simons (husband John Johnson) Bandera, Texas and Marsha Layton, Pocatello, and one brother Farel Simons, Pocatello. Grant was an avid sportsman and had just bagged his 5 point buck for the year. He loved to fish, hunt, ride motorcycles, camp and work on his vehicles. He and Diane traveled and camped often and they spent many days enjoying Idaho's great outdoors. Grant was often involved in helping people in need of assistance with many problems and could be counted on to be kind hearted and capable. Grant loved animals and had saved many cast-off pets over the years. His beloved pets Samantha, Trina, Sylvester and Shadow will miss him. His death was completely unexpected. He requested that his death and everything associated with it be handled in a completely private manner. To that end, we will add only that his family and friends are shocked to lose him and will miss him very much. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Bannock Humane Society on Grant's behalf.
