Grace Petet

January 4, 1918 — October 2, 2010

Grace L. Petet, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday October 2, 2010. Grace was born Eugenia Grace Lewis on January 4, 1918 in Butler, Tennessee to Samuel and Josephine Lewis. In 1919 the family moved to Parma, Idaho where Grace was raised. They later located to Caldwell, Idaho. There she attended high school and the College of Idaho, where she received her teaching certificate.

She married Bert Leroy Petet in Caldwell on February 22, 1939 they were blessed with two children; James and Julie and they were able to spend 38 years together until Bert's passing in 1977.

Grace retired from ISU and was an active member of the Central Christian Church.

She loved the annual family trips to the Oregon Coast and camping and fishing in Mackay. She enjoyed gardening, doing needlework but especially loved to spend time with her family and looked forward to family gatherings.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Creekside Hospice and Friends and Family Home Care that helped provide her with care at home.

Grace is survived by a son, James (Norma) Petet, Centerville, UT; grandchildren, Kim (J.J.) Riesberg, Pocatello, Jeff (Sharon) Snow, Pocatello, Elizabeth (Duawayne) Taft, Eugene, OR, Eleanor (Mike) Becker, Layton, UT; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert L. Petet; daughter, Julie Ann Snow; son-in-law, Robert D. Snow; brother, Bill Lewis Sr. and sister, Eleanor Farner.
