Grace Marie Rhodehouse

Grace Marie Dixon Rhodehouse, 89, passed away on January 29, 2021 from natural causes. She passed peacefully with her family nearby. Grace was born on April 23, 1931 in Wilber, Idaho to Walter and Hazel Dixon. Grace was the oldest of 4 children. Her siblings are Verna Dixon Priest, Eldon Dixon, and Darlene Dixon Hansen. Grace spent her childhood, until she was married, in Parker, Idaho. She married Albert Gene Rhodehouse on April 15, 1949 in Parker, Idaho. She had 5 children, Norman Rhodehouse, Stanley & Kathy Rhodehouse, Margo & Randel Cannon, Dawna Whitney, and Evelyn & Rocky Salvesen. She leaves 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Grace spent her early married years in Drummond, Idaho where Gene Dry-Farmed. They then moved to Cobalt, Idaho where Gene worked in Cobalt Mine. From there they moved to Chubbuck where dad worked for the J.R. Simplot Co. Then in 1963 they moved to Inkom, Idaho where she raised her family. On October 28, 1992, she lost her husband Gene. Grace never remarried. On the 14th of October 1966 they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. In 2015 Grace moved to Downey, Idaho until her passing. Grace was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held numerous positions. She loved to sew in her younger years making many things for her family. She was an active Gardner and loved being outside- whether it be watering, mowing, or attending to vegetable and flower gardens. Grace will be greatly missed by family and friends, but we are at ease that she is now with our dad and the rest of her family and friends. We wish to thank Encompass Health Care and Hospice for all their help and dedication. They are greatly appreciated. We love you mom and grandma. Private visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Public graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 12:30 pm in the Inkom Cemetery, Inkom, Idaho.
