Gloria Furniss

We thank God for loaning us you. Gloria Ann Furniss (76) went home August 14, 2013 after battling with Pneumonia. She was born Gloria Ann Tillotson on March 10, 1937 to DaVella and Raymond in Pocatello, Idaho. Her biological father, Ray, passed away suddenly when Gloria was three years old. She lived in Pocatello with her mother, DaVella, and her little sister, Margie Ray. The girls were very happy when DaVella married Nathaniel Todd White on March 5, 1945. The girls moved up to the Maple Leaf Dairy on the West Bench. Gloria worked alongside her mother and father running the family dairy business. She attended Pocatello High School and worked hard. Along came brother, Richard, she loved spending lots of time with him. As a young teenager, she met Ronnie Ray Furniss they were married when she turned 18 yrs. old. They had 6 children Rhonda, Kevin, Carolyn, Kim, Kelly, and Todd. They lived a very adventurous life moving back and forth from Pocatello to places like Anchorage, Alaska. Pocatello was always home base for the Furniss family. Ron and Gloria divorced in 1970. She worked and lived in Washington State. Gloria had always worked hard and she owned and operated two businesses; a new construction cleaning business and her bakery called the Bread Box.. She loved all of her family. She was known as Grandma Gloria to all her grandchildren. We all love her and will miss her very much. Gloria is survived by her sisters, Margie Ray Neider and Shawna Dee Torangan, brothers, Richard White and Tim White, daughter, Rhonda Lee Staples, sons, Kelly Ray Furniss and Todd Freeman Furniss, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Gloria is preceded in death by her biological father, Raymond Burt Tillotson, father, Nathaniel Todd White, mother, DaVella Fanny White, sons, Kim Allen Furniss and Kevin Layne Furniss, and daughter Carolyn Ranae Pearcy. A viewing will be held Friday, August 23, at the Colonial Funeral Home (2005 S 4TH Ave.) from 6:00 PM to 8 PM. The Funeral will be held, August 24th, at 2 PM. Burial will follow services at Restlawn Cemetery.
