Glenis Hale Matson

May 17, 1935 — February 6, 2010

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Glenis Hale Matson, 74, returned peacefully home to her Heavenly Father on February 6, 2010 at her home.
She was born on May 17, 1935 in Grace, Idaho to Clayton S. and Clara L. Quinn Hale. She grew up in Pocatello, Idaho where she attended school and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1954. She married her eternal sweetheart, John Garry Matson on May 16, 1957 in the Idaho Falls Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in many church callings. Currently, she was serving with her husband in the Idaho Falls Temple.
She had been employed by Performance Systems and later by the Boy Scouts of America. She retired in 1997.
Mom looked forward to her monthly lunch dates with her lifelong friends. She loved music and had a beautiful alto voice.
Mom's greatest joy was when she was surrounded by her family. She also enjoyed attending the many activities that we were involved in. Throughout her life she had many medical challenges, which she faced without complaint.
Glenis is survived by her husband of 53 years, her five children Debbie (Richard) Layman of Pocatello; Kirk (Shemay) Matson of Murrieta, California; Mark (Sherri) Matson of Chubbuck; Scott (Brenda) Matson of Pocatello; Jennifer (Steve) Muhonen of Chubbuck. She is also survived by 16 grandsons and 2 granddaughters; a brother DeLoy Hale of Elgin Oregon; and two sisters Joan Murdoch of Grace Idaho; and Linda Eaton of Twin Falls Idaho. Glenis was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Evan Hale.
Mom, we will miss your smile, contagious laugh and the many hugs and kisses which we all loved so much.
