Gladys Stratten Scott, 89, was born on October 23, 1925 in Pocatello, Idaho where she lived her entire life. She was the third child born to Walter and Janet Stratten. After a long happy life, she died peacefully on September 17, 2015. She had a happy childhood spending summers in Sterling, Idaho taking care of her grandmother. She met Melvin Scott in 1949 while they were both working at Eddys Bakery. They were married July 2, 1949 and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple January 13, 2007. Camping and fishing with family were some of her favorite activities and after catching the fish, she loved having a family fish fry. As a young girl she spent many summers on the Salmon River with her family. This is where she developed her love for camping and fishing. As a devoted homemaker, she made sure that every canning jar was full of fruit before the winter would come. Later in life, she became the beloved, smiling hall monitor at Quinn Meadows.
