Gladys Ruth Jensen

Gladys Ruth Jensen, 90, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at a local Care Center in Pocatello, ID. She was born in Boise, Idaho on July 7, 1924 to Lillie Ruth Clegg but grew up and resided her entire life in Pocatello, Idaho. Ruth graduated from the Practical Nursing Program offered by St. Anthony Mercy Hospital in 1961. She worked as a nurse at St. Anthony Mercy Hospital, Bannock Memorial Hospital and Pocatello Regional Medical Center for over 30 years, retiring in the mid 90s. She married Cyrus Kenneth Jensen on July 5, 1940 in Pocatello, ID. They are the parents of two children; Marga Lee Barnes (Jim) and Kenneth Wesley (Linda). Ruth enjoyed bowling, gardening, collecting stamps and coins, and spending time with her family. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her daughter, Marga Lee (Jim) of Rocklin, CA, her son, Kenneth Wesley (Linda) of Newcastle, WA; grandchildren, Lisa Armstrong (Hal) of Morgan, UT, Kenny Jensen (Gwen) of Black Diamond, WA, Holly Burrill (Jeff) of Danville, CA; great-grandchildren, Briana and Shannon Lowry, Brittaney and Brandon Jensen, Andrew, Kaylee and Jared Burrill; two brothers, O.R. Pharris and T.A. Pharris of Pocatello, ID. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cyrus Kenneth; brothers, Donald A. Pharris and Tiney Oscar Pharris. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1 PM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500. Family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1 PM before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
