Gladys Louise Knudson, 90, passed away July 10, 2016 at Cascade Nursing Facility in Utah. She was born December 22, 1925 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of John and Mary Madonna Ratcliffe. Gladys graduated from South High School in Denver and worked as a telephone operator for Mountain States Telephone Company. Gladys married Lyle Germer Knudson Oct 9, 1947 in Englewood, Colo. The family had the opportunity to live in several different western states since Lyle was in the Air Force. Gladys was converted to the Latter Day Saint faith and was baptized August 3, 1963. In 1965, Lyle retired from the Air Force and the family settled in Blackfoot, Idaho and Gladys worked at the Idaho National Laboratory as a telephone operator. She loved to garden and loved her dogs and other animals. In 2000, she moved to South Jordan, Utah at Legacy to be near her daughter, Donna. She loved Legacy and had many friends there. Soon after she arrived, her dog died and she eventually bought a toy poodle named Mandy. They were inseparable and went almost everywhere together. After many years with Mandy, it broke her heart when eventually she had to put her down. On April 13, 2001, she was sealed to her husband, Lyle, in the Jordan River Temple. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Lyle (Donna) of Morgan Hill, Calif, John (Namie) of Pocatello, and Donna (Brad) Thomas of West Jordan, Utah; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; and grandson, Patrick. Respecting her wishes, graveside services and burial will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10 am at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204.
